Apply Lean tools to improving the efficiency of the office environment.
Only about 20% of total lead time results from manufacturing activities. In a Lean manufacturing environment, administrative functions also need to be efficient and free of waste and non-value-added activities in the process. Through training in Lean Office, gain hands on experience through a live simulation in a traditional office environment. As in a real company, class participants take on the roles such as customers, managers, sales department, and other workers. The simulation exercises alternate with class time where participants will learn Lean definitions and techniques. They will then apply these principles to the office environment using typical simulated office equipment, supplies, forms, and procedures. By days end, each person will gain a practical understanding of how "Lean" continuous improvement techniques can be applied to the office to eliminate waste, gain more capacity from existing operations, and enhance your company's ability to compete.
