	Southern Growth Policies Board Names DesignSeed - Auburn University 2010 Innovator Award Winner from Alabama RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC –Southern Growth Policies Board is pleased to announce DesignSeed – Auburn University as the recipient of its 2010 Innovator Award from Alabama. DesignSeed, a collaboration between Auburn University’s Office of University Outreach, Technical Assistance Center and Industrial Design program, creates businesses in rural and distressed areas of Alabama that are based on innovative product designs created by the university’s Industrial Design students. 	ATAC STAFFERS ATTAIN PRESTIGIOUS ‘LEAN’CERTIFICATIONS AUBURN – Four staffers from the Auburn Technical Assistance Center at Auburn University’s College of Business have achieved the prestigious Lean Bronze Certification for manufacturing expertise from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Lean Specialist Dave Devore attained Bronze Certified Lean Manufacturing status and Lean Specialists Rick Battye and Terri Lawrence, and Senior Outreach Associate Mitch Emmons each attained AME/SME/Shingo Bronze Knowledge Certificationn.. 	ATAC's DAVID MIXSON COMPLETES EDI PROGRAM AUBURN – David Mixson, a management scientist with the Auburn Technical Assistance Center (ATAC) at Auburn University’s College of Business recently became a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. 	ATAC-ATN OFFERING ‘WINNING WAYS’ FOR BUSINESS GROWTH AUBURN -- David Mixson, a management scientist with ATAC-ATN, who specializes in marketing and growth strategy, recently attended the Eureka Ranch Winning Ways training in Cincinnati. Under the tutelage of Eureka Ranch's founder Doug Hall, a former master marketer for Proctor Gamble and judge for the television show, "American Inventor," Mixson now is a trained Eureka Growth Coach.
